Gaining insight into the performance of your Java applications

The Stax Cloud was recently upgraded to collect and report a rich set of metrics about the performance of your deployed Java applications. The new charts on your application's Operations page are designed to give you insight into the health of your application and to help you judge the impact of the changes you make to your application over time.

By correlating past changes in application performance with the overlaid application timeline, you'll be able to gain insights into how your changes have affected your application. By examining the current CPU, memory, and response times of your applications, you'll be able to make informed decisions about how to adjust the settings of your application deployments to trade-off between server resource allocation and performance.

To learn more about the new Stax monitoring and reporting features, please review the Stax Charts wiki page.

Can we view these charts inside our applications?
Rather than viewing them through the app console is there any way that we can plug them in our applications.
So that we can monitor them through out applications directly..

I love the idea of some DB metrics/monitoring

Hi Todd, we're still working on this, but do plan to expose something. Unfortunately, MySQL is not very good at providing per-database metrics, so to report useful information, we're probably going to have to instrument the Stax JDBC driver to provide most of these metrics.

This is really useful. Are there any plans to provide insight into the DB's performance? I'd be extremely interested in seeing where locking, other bottlenecks, etc. are occurring.
